Virtual Exhibition
Hidden History and Diverse Heritage
As a team, our research on the hidden histories and diverse heritage of Boston has led us to explore all manner of topics, from architecture, pubs, poetry, nature and wildlife, to fishing, farming, manufacturing and industry, tourism, and historic and recent experiences of migration in and out of the area.

History of River Witham
Our virtual exhibition depicts significant sites and places as icons located alongside the River Witham. The river became a focal point for Cosmopolitan Boston given its vital role in transporting people, goods, and ideas in and out of Boston throughout the town’s history, producing the cosmopolitan character that we see today.
Social and Political Struggle
Like anywhere, the history of Boston is one of social and political struggle, and we invite you to reflect on this as you move through the exhibition. The exhibition is just a flavour of the rich history of this town, and we direct you to check out our list of resources for further information.
